"Guia 4 Rodas", of Abril Publishers, is a national travel guide with information of the best places to visit at every destination in Brazil, being acknowledged as the best travel guide of Brazil due to its high standards in evaluating each category of service offered, like hotels, restaurants and tourism tours. The "Guia 4 Rodas" Award happens annually to elect the best among the enterprises ranked as 5 stars on the travel guide. Through internet polls with the guide’s readers the best hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants and enterprises of other categories are chosen. With a total of 11,000 votes, after a 2 month voting period through the internet, where people were asked to answer the question: "Which is the best tourist attraction in Brazil?" The Ecotourism tour Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata won the award: Choice of the readers "Best tourist attraction of Brazil – Guia 4 Rodas 2008" This conquest shows the ongoing development of the ecotourism tour, always striving for better practices, environmental conservation and regional sustainable development.

In Brazil, there are only 26 tourist attractions ranked as five stars by the travel guide "Guia 4 rodas". And the best among them are chosen every year by the guide's readers through The reader's choice Award.
During two months, readers voted through an internet poll and for the second year in a row, the ecotourism tour located in Jardim - MS (Brazil) Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata was considered the best tourist attraction (reader’s choice) in Brazil by "Guia 4 Rodas" edition 2009, the country’s leading travel guide and tourism reference.

Establishment of a private reserve on the property, environmental monitoring, the adoption of minimum impact practices during the tours, waste recycling, organic vegetable garden, humus production, native tree nursery, staff training, employing local workers, promoting environmental education, participation in class associations and tourism organizations, sponsoring NGOs and regional social projects, are practices that differentiate the model of sustainable tourism adopted at "Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata" from traditional models.
All these combined practices caused Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata, located in Jardim - MS (Brazil), to win the ECO Award 2008 in the category Management for Sustainability, small companies.
Launched by Amcham (American Chamber of Commerce) in 1982, the ECO Award is a is a nonprofit initiative that puts in evidence the Brazilian companies directly or indirectly linked to environmental causes and aims to annually recognize the best practices that contribute to the welfare and sustainability of society. In 2008, the Award was held in partnership with the newspaper "Valor Econômico".

The Newspaper "Jornal do Brasil" and the magazine "JB Ecológico" announced that the case "The model of sustainable ecotourism of Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata" won the 2008 edition of Brazil's Environmental Award in the category Best Ecotourism Case.
In its third edition, this initiative of the Newspaper "Jornal do Brasil" and the magazine "JB Ecológico" was born and continues with the sponsorship of Petrobrás and Brazil's Federal Government, and the support of Coca Cola Company.

The Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata (Japacanim Ecotourism) won in two categories of the Award for Competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises in Mato Grosso do Sul state 2009 - Tourism Services and Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility.
For the directors of the enterprise, Eduardo and Simone Coelho, this award is a recognition of the work with ecotourism. "Our proposal is to maintain a process of continuous improvement of the quality of the services offered. Receiving these awards is a demonstration that the ecotourism at Rio da Prata with its 15 years of operation is on the right path" says Eduardo.
About the Award - The Award MPE Brasil - Award for Competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises, is organized by Sebrae, in partnership with Competitive Brazil Movement (MBC), the National Foundation for Quality (FNQ), Gerdau and MS Competitivo.
The goal is to recognize companies that stood out in the business management of each state, contributing to the dissemination of good practices and strengthening the entrepreneurial culture.
