“Lagoa Misteriosa”, which translates as Mysterious Lagoon, is a lake at the bottom of a doline, a type of geological formation that looks like a hole, and it is all surrounded by riparian vegetation. The access to this lake of blue waters is a 70 meters  staircase.

The Mysterious Lagoon is impressive for its incredible depth and water transparency, divers reported that at 30 meters it is still possible to see the trees surrounding the lake. During the winter months, visibility reaches 40 meters.

At the depth of 8-meter the lagoon divides itself in two tunnels, each one with about 10 meters in diameter, one of them descends vertically to over 240 meters of depth.

The Discovery Dive is a Scuba Diving tour for people without previous diving experience or basic open water courses. The maximum depth reached is 10 meters. Visitors that already have advanced diving certification can also participate on this tour.  The certification must be proven.

The tour is accompanied by a professional diving instructor and has an approximate duration of 30 to 40 minutes. The diving can be done by anyone over 12 years.

A delicious lunch at the main house of Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata nicely complements the tour.
